Post-Jam #2 - The UI Update


Hey again!

This update is a little smaller in the number of changes, but the UI as a whole got reworked. Here's a summary of the changes this time around: 

  • Rearranged UI to promote better gameplay flow
  • Removed History log window
  • Added additional shooting resources to show when Wisps are lost when rolling less than the threat tracker
  • Removed collision on dice after they are placed in an action

The goal was to have a better flow for gameplay as the player takes their moves. Starting in the upper left corner, then moving down to the dice and across the middle to place dice. An increased emphases on resources (more screen real estate, bigger font, and numbers being on their own line) hopefully makes the flow of the game state more clear, too!

One part I think this version fails at is appropriately displaying the consequences for rolling under the Threat Marker. I might need more brainstorming to fix that one up more.

Next update will be the final post-jam update in which I swap out some of the remaining default Unity assets and try to bring more cohesion visually.
