Post-Jam Update #1 - Bugs, Art, & New Feature


Hello! 

Thanks for joining me and playing Quell during the jams rating period. Over the next few weeks, I plan to make regular updates with the eventual goal of releasing on Android. These updates will be free for the browser version.

Here are a list of the changes to today's update:

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue where power was being removed from spirits before doubling if the element matched

New Features

  •  During an encounter, the top card of your deck always displays, giving you more information before selecting which spirit to quell first

Polish

  • Art assets updated for more cohesive colors
  • Sprites for the water and air spirits finished
  • Font updated from Unity default

Going forward, here are some items that I plan to work on and add. This list is subject to change and is not comprehensive!

  • Rebalance encounter power to scale based on the player deck's total power
  • Rework encounters to always provide different dominant elements
  • Rebalance card rewards to scale more smoothly
  • Sound effects, updated audio, and audio controls
  • Cards with rules text and other abilities!
  • Updated deck list display to dynamically show which cards have been played so far
  • Finish removing default Unity assets (UI boxes & buttons)
  • Add background art
  • Polish more art such as portals and spirits
  • Card art? More spirit art?
